Vernon summer camping

We went camping at the outback twice this summer, once for one night (too short!), and once for a whole 5 days of awesomeness!  Only wish it were more.

Riles loved the tent, sleeping under the stars and having us relaxed and just playing with him/Kivani.  He also finally warmed to swimming (had I posted about prior swimming/crying lessons, the extent of this miracle could be fully understood).  He is now great in a lifejacket, dunks his head underwater no problem, and tries to drink the fishies up! (grammar?).  Lovely times at the beach, walking and hanging out.  "hanging out" used to mean relaxing with a book, but now its more like "containing the nuclear fallout" kind of thing.

Love shaded-after-a-hot-busy-day tent naps

Vons working on her scootering skills
Tiger was in heaven!  We only saw her at night, and randomly climbing trees at great speed.  She will no longer be left behind for camping trips.
Wine made this even better
Thanks to Vons, this was taken very early one morning.  This shot looks so peaceful.  Don't turn around...

Our camping spot is just on top of this cave.  Riles was thrilled.  Its just the right height for him!

Then we were off to my parents house to visit the family.

Well she rocks the "character" catagory, Vons is not quite winning the cuteness awards.

Such a busy girl!

 But finally smiley!    On occasion.
Gogo had those foam chairs, which she adores.  Look ma!  I can carry it!  These chairs got rearranged  more times than a home magazine shoot.

 SO PROUD!
After she had them perfectly lined up, Pops thought he would come sit down beside her.  There's a chair under there somewhere.  Vani's not so sure...
