HMS Barnabus

The maiden voyage of Barnabus has happened (I tried to explain to Ri how boats usually have girls names but he was adamant about Barnabus, so Barnabus it is!)! I'm pleased to report she runs great and is stable with all four of us on board. Don't ask about how the maiden launch went. . . . . Daddy forgot to put the plug in so immediately it filled with water. Then with all the water out and the plug in Mama let the rope go so we watched the boat float away. About an hour later we all finally set sail!

We had a great cruise around Barnet Inlet.

 And Sweetie loved it!

Thumbs up!

Mama was a great navigator. At times a little distracted from checking out the shoreline houses but we did get back to the dock. I don't think I have to go into detail about how well it went getting the boat back on the trailer! In short Daddy turned the engine off too early then crashed and Mama drove the trailer onto the pier not down the boat ramp! We've got all the wrinkles out now, so next time will be much smoother. . . . .

So our lovely Sweetie loves babies - dolls, teddies, cabbage patch kids that is.  She's endlessly putting them to sleep under a blanket or changing their shoes.  Now let her hold a real baby and Wow!  She was sooooo happy and sooooo loving! This is (at the time 8 weeks) Mio, our friends Kristy & Marcus' new son!

He was great with Ri and Vons. Again Vonnie was so thrilled!

Kristy and Marcus are a lucky Mum and Dad - Mio is such a lovely baby.

And Mio is also very lucky he has a wonderful Mum and Dad.  Here's Mama after a long Tessa hike!

The grass in the back is doing well. As long as we get Tengs out for lots of runs that is. If he doesn't get out for at least 2 to 3 runs a day then he thinks it's funny to go in the back and eat the grass.  Funny Tengs.  Needless to say we're looking for his receipt!

Cookies

Kivani is ridiculous. She only eats the chocolate part of chocolate chip cookies.

Vans and Ri are now best of friends (except the occasional bite/hit) and it's so wonderful to see them loving time together.

Ps doesn't the yard look great?

Sunshine!

Vons and friend Leila practicing their yoga moves!

Vonnie loves swings.

Daddy should officially definitely not be the one that takes the kids to the dentist. I'm a bit sensitive. You're going to put what in my sons mouth and why are you doing that....! Ri did great at first but then the visit went dramatically downhill very quickly. I don't think we're allowed back!

But the awful dentist visit wasn't something some sunshine and sprinklers couldn't fix!

Queen not princess - queen.

Mama with her mother's day prezzies.

Such a proud Mama!

Mothering fail

You know all those Facebook posts about the wonderful preschool events for Mother's Day, how special it is etc.

We, I was in a meeting in seattle for Mother's Day tea, and my poor kid was the one stuck singing his solo to our nanny Echo and delivering her his carefully made presents.  Failure.

Thankfully the last meeting was cancelled so I was able to rush home to see them for dinner, picking up a costco chicken on the way home (thank heaven for Costco chickens!)

Kids were cold from playing in the rain, so threw them in the bath and why mess up a plate?  These kids can multitask!

How's this for a balanced meal?
