Beautiful day today. Loved being outside this weekend in the sun. Got lots done. Super.
Riles started clapping today and is just so chuffed with himself. He continues to give himself rounds of applause.
Visited nanny at her new home in Kits, went for a super long walk along the sea-wall. This lady is fit! Embarrassing when you can't keep up with an 85 year old!
Nan's new home
Fam Fab
As we walked along the seawall, we realized this was my uncle Derek going to get his crab traps. He did a drive by HOOT
No, I have no idea whose dog that is chasing the ducks.
Happy to be with my little boy again. Wow, I missed him. His feet grew an inch while I was away.
Generations
You ain't so bad...
Rags is now a master backwards scooter. He gets himself firmly wedged under various pieces of furniture. He gets stranded on his (ample) belly when trying to move forward. He is loving 'solid' foods although he totally has no relation that things in his hands could go into his mouth (vs. throwing on the floor). We just feed him whatever we are eating in small bites or pureed. Favorite toy is now the bose remote or little Tiger. Poor cat.
We adore you bubbs.
Ok. Below we went a bit nuts. Simon showed me how to take a bunch of pics ~1 sec apart. Since my general strategy is 'infinite monkeys + typewriters = shakespeare' I needed no encouragement. Bedtime, so instead of filtering I'll throw in a bunch below.
He loved the furry throw. So excited.
Next year, less chocolate.
Erica is the one who got us on the watermelon pumpkins. Si got halfway through saying that we had to send her a picture again this year before he remembered. We miss you Erica.

Missed
Wow, I miss my boys. I watch videos of Riley and go through the photos on the blog at night instead of answering my customers.
Yay for tomorrow!

Eight Months
I can't believe our gorgous is already eight months! Where does the time go? He's such a joy.
Logistics I will forget later - still no teeth although the bumps on his lower gum look set to pop any moment. He crawls only backwards, although I'm not exactly encouraging his mobility. His favorite item is either my blackberry or a coat hanger. He adores his father, who is wonderful! He's a mellow fellow and just loves to explore and hang out. We both love you so much Riley!
Happy 8 month birthday, Buddy

Nana's birthday on Thursday downtown.

mom, I really really hate this hat
Yay nan's back! Great to see her Friday and this morning.
I love this guy's legs. No, he isn't walking. Just checking out the view.
Riley couldn't figure out what Danny was. Look ma! They shrunk the dog!
Time to do the dishes! The way this kid splashes, the floors and walls got washed too.
Ok. We are truly (north) american. Remember how we had a perfectly functional pack, but I saw the other pack and liked it so much more? We bought one. Blooming consumers. We bought, and will sell, both off craigslist, but still... Naughty. I do love our new pack though... rags checking it out on our first walk around the apple festival today @ UBC.
Huge fan of these signs:
I've been sick this past week. Rags and Si seem okay. For now...
Tomorrow I leave for Denver for 6 whole days for work. Without my peeps. I will miss them so much. Only thing? Rags hasn't been sleeping well, he's about to get teeth in and what's the bet he caught my cold? Maybe it's a great time to sneak away... just kidding boys, I'm going to miss you so much. I'll be so sad if he gets teeth or crawls forward or something while I'm gone. Things change so fast these days.
Riles, you be nice to dad when I'm gone, ok?

Giving Thanks
So many things to be thankful for today. Our health, stability, our wonderful family, beautiful boy. Blessed.
Mrs G came over Thursday to sing with Riley. He just adores her. Here he is with his nana, and his new shoes (thanks Judy + Rob!)
Ready for our evening walk.
Wonderful thanksgiving dinner at Colleen + Diggers last night.
We were even more thankful for lovely shredded beef!
My favorite part - kids playing
Gorgeous Maddie face! This girl is going to be trouble!
Riley-bob, square pants (he has squeaky blocks down his pants for some reason... simon?)
Mom, why do I look like a lemon?
Today was supposed to be miserable, and I was all set to do work. However, it ended up gorgeous so we headed out to kits for a walk on the beach.
Flying!
Mads.
Yes. We've become THOSE people. Somehow you get more than four people together, and the pace slows, and we take up the whole sidewalk. I promise, I was trying to keep us in check!
Funny moment of the day (that wasn't really funny) - Si tied Tenge to the stroller while there was no baby in it. Tenge sprinted away. Ran past a runner and a heavily pregnant lady. Their faces!
yay sun!
Hi sweetie!
PS - we stopped at MEC on the way home. I accidentally tried on the child carriers, even though we already have an MEC happytrails. I LOVE the Littlelife Voyager!! So well thought through. Great design.

Rediculous
Rags and Tiges playing - who likes the cat toy more?
Si went a bit overboard with overstimulation center modifications...

Simon was at a playdate with Colleen today. It's been far too long since I saw her, and I'm stoked to see her for thanksgiving this weekend.
Mads is so grown up! I swear she was just a bitty thing, and suddenly she's sitting.
Rags and her were apparently best of friends. He poked her in the eye and showed off his moved (sliding on the floor backwards). She smiled and giggled and stroked his arm.
I'm guessing not much will change when they are teenagers:)
Couldn't you just eat these two up?
Ummm... I really need to push forward now.
